A thirty- five six year old non-female Canadian with a passion for pretty things, comic books and pop culture. Tries to be funny sometimes.

Me saying goodbye to Toronto yet again. It’s been a slice.

Who Am I?  You Really Want To Know?
I live in the great Arctic wasteland known as Canada.  In Ontario.  In a city.  We like our rocks and Saturday nights here.
I’m afflicted with nerdism.  I read comics.  I watch Dr. Who.  I can quote most of The Princess Bride.  I’ve LARP’ed (once).  I’ve played D&D.  My first gaming console was an Atari 2600 but the first one I played was a Commodore VIC 20.
I am married with a 5 year old daughter.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree.  It was a major in Law & Justice and a minor in Sociology.
I once got my head stuck in a power window on a car.
I am 6’1” and about 230 lbs.  At the moment, I have a beard.
Some days, I sit in front of a computer at work.  Other days, I sit in a car.  Once in a while, I stand somewhere.  It sounds pretty boring, but it’s not.
Have you ever watched The Wire?  Good show.
I have a birthmark on my left knee.
Diabeetus.  I gots it.
The only countries I have visited are the United States and Scotland.
I grew up with my mother and my sister.  My dad remarried providing me with two step-sisters and a half-sister.  As a result, I spent more time in my youth watching young girls putting on fake fashion shows than watching professional sports.
I’m really sensitive, you guys.
I showed a natural aptitude towards both music and art in my adolescence, but given that I’m pretty much a savant when it comes to laziness, I never really developed those skills.
I turn 40 in 3 1/2 years.
My name is Inigo Montoya.  You killed my father.  Prepare to die.

I’m going to go ahead and call it and say that my favourite moment of today came before noon.

  1. Holidays, I am in you!  Today is primarily getting prepped for our week long camping excursion.  I need to try and squeeze all our gear into the muscle van before tomorrow when I’ll be picking up the tent trailer I’ve rented.  I’m looking forward to logging some hours in the hammock with a book and some peaceful runs around the campground at the crack of dawn, but the weather forecast right now is looking like a bitch, so I hope it doesn’t rain too much.  There will likely be some time spent at the beach as well, and my sister will be joining us with her boys and my Dad is coming out as well.  I predict some Scotch around the campfire.

  2. Some of my best friends are still the ones I made in high school.  One of those friends and his family are going to be in town today, so a bunch of us are getting together for a BBQ.  I’m really looking forward to catching up and laughing and quoting geeky movies.

  3. Work has been really busy lately.  Interesting, but busy.  I’m looking forward to the break.

  4. I’m hoping all those people going to Snark have a great time.  I’m looking forward to pictures.  There are lots of people around here I’d like to meet, if given the chance, but I much prefer a smaller, more personal venue.  I feel like an event like Snark would come with a lot of pressure to meet and talk to everyone, like speed-dating.

  5.  I’m getting a haircut today.  This shit is out of control.

First one in the office. So peaceful. I may nap.

Also, I need a haircut.

I’m a hopeless romantic. I love movies about relationships and personal connections.

I’m not incapable of being handy, but I usually can’t be bothered to be.

I leave a lot of personal facts about myself private, because, well, Google. But sometimes I give you hints.

I’m a total nerd but I sometimes hide that fact because I’m embarrassed by it.

My list of partners of the physical variety is reeeeally short.

One of my greatest flaws is an inability to make hard life decisions. I second guess everything.
